Want to help build an 85% scale replica of a 17th century in Warsaw Poland? synagogue

Interested in helping rebuild the Gwozdziec Synagogue in Warsaw Poland this summer?

Beginning this summer, students and a team of experts, will be building an 85% scale replica of the timber roof structure and polychrome wooden ceiling of this 17th century synagogue for the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

Several three week sessions are open to students from mid to late summer. Two weeks on site and one week of travel / site seeing. This unique opportunity is open to all students at the cost of $3300 without credit, all expenses included. Credit can be obtained with an additional fee from the Massachusetts College of Art. See application for details.

For more information click on the FOR MORE INFORMATION AND AN APPLICATION in red at the bottom to the article on the left of the site (link to site). To the right there are also many details in a pdf file as well as the application. The deadline has been extended as they only just received final confirmation of this project from the Polish government.

This is an opportunity unlike any other. The Polish government has contracted a film maker who will be documenting this project which, when completed, is sure to bring international attention. Being a part of this project will be a opportunity of a lifetime for any student. All disciplines are welcome. We are looking to form a team of 8 or more students from Hartwick, Terry Slade would be the leader of the group.

Look on the website and Contact Terry Slade @ sladet@hartwick.edu if you are interested in this opportunity
